Capitalism a love story was a documentary we watched in the theaters. When i first heard that it was a documentary i thought it was gonna be a completely boring movie but it turned out that it wasn't completely boring it had really funny parts but others made you want to go to sleep. Anyway Capitalism A Love Story was a documentary made by Micheal Moore who also had made other documentaries like Sicko which was about health care in America. This Documentary that he made was about root causes of the global economic meltdown, how companies are making money off you, how much money the bank has taken from us and etc.
What is Capitalism? An economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations. Micheal Moore shows us alot of scenes where capitalism is used and especially the bad things its causing like for example in the movie homes are being taken away from people, workers are not being payed, companies are making money when people even die and etc. It also has other scenes like the one about the fall of ancient Rome in the beginning of the movie and other funny ones like the cat flushing the toilet and atleast were not like Detroit which i found really funny.
The camera angles used in the film and the music used were really good and made it more interesting and funny without them i think we would all fall asleep. For example when there was a funny scene they would play some funny type of music in the background and when there was a sad scene they would put some depressing music on. The movie overall was edited pretty nicely because the music went great with the scenes. This made a big impact on the audience because if there was no music with the scenes or if the music was like a different type which didn't go well with the scene alot of people wouldn't like it much and find it boring.
I think that most of the facts that Moore used were correct and real like he said that the banks have alot of our money and that is true cause i have read this kind of stuff in the newspapers before so its not the first time that I'm hearing this. He also said that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer and a great way he showed us that was the part where people had their houses taken away and they got poorer while the rich made money off that which made them richer. The people interviewed were pretty much credible because they were really emotional and started crying and you could tell that this wasn't just a bunch of fake acting. Moore tried to tell us that capitalism is completely bad and didn't show us any good things about it and he was being bias so we agree with him.
In the movie Moore didn't show us a single part where we could say that capitalism is good and he only showed us the negative effects of it but i think that is not true and capitalism can be used is good ways. I think that capitalism can be perfected because in the movie he shows how greedy the big corporations, companies, banks and the government are. Some rich people are also good and not completely evil so capitalism can be perfected by changing some laws because there are also some good things that the government are doing like free health care and welfare and etc. I think that if they do more kind of things like this it will make big changes in the world of capitalism.

Zaib - you say very little about how audiences might view Moore's message. How do you think the appearance of the film and its style might influence members of the audience to arrive at the same conclusion that Moore has arrived at about the wretched state of capitalism?
