Rebellion video
I chose this as my video because i think this is a perfect example of a video with rebellion in it.They are saying in the video that if you feel bad, your not the only one so get up and refuse and the definition of rebellion is refusing and also they are saying to start a riot and that is also a big example of a rebellion (starting a riot) and i also think the song is good even though its a little emo.

Commercial
I think that this commercial is a perfect example of a brand that is promoting life style. In this commercial they show Sydney Crosby who is a professional hockey player drinking Gatorade and the people who made Gatorade are telling us that we should drink Gatorade too because it will help us become more athletic in our lives they also tell us that it is scientifically proven that Gatorade is good for you. So drink Gatorade because Crosby doesn't stop and nor should you.

AD's in Schools
I think that advertisement's should be in schools but they should have some limits and some benefit to the students before they are put up. I think that ads aren't that bad for schools but they should benefit the school in some way like in class we talked about having ads in our schools if they provided us stuff like macs for the school or ipods for everyone. Well i think that would be pretty reasonable because we are all getting free stuff by just an ad. Some people would say that having ads are not good and some people would be put down by others but there are already tons of advertisements outside of the school and they are even in our books so it wouldn't make a difference so you cant escape them anyway. I also think there should be a limit for advertisement's they should only be put in the hallways and they shouldn't be put in classes cause that would be a major distraction so overall i don't mind ads in our schools but they should have limits and boundaries.

Capitalism A Love Story Review
Capitalism a love story was a documentary we watched in the theaters. When i first heard that it was a documentary i thought it was gonna be a completely boring movie but it turned out that it wasn't completely boring it had really funny parts but others made you want to go to sleep. Anyway Capitalism A Love Story was a documentary made by Micheal Moore who also had made other documentaries like Sicko which was about health care in America. This Documentary that he made was about root causes of the global economic meltdown, how companies are making money off you, how much money the bank has taken from us and etc.
What is Capitalism? An economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations. Micheal Moore shows us alot of scenes where capitalism is used and especially the bad things its causing like for example in the movie homes are being taken away from people, workers are not being payed, companies are making money when people even die and etc. It also has other scenes like the one about the fall of ancient Rome in the beginning of the movie and other funny ones like the cat flushing the toilet and atleast were not like Detroit which i found really funny.
The camera angles used in the film and the music used were really good and made it more interesting and funny without them i think we would all fall asleep. For example when there was a funny scene they would play some funny type of music in the background and when there was a sad scene they would put some depressing music on. The movie overall was edited pretty nicely because the music went great with the scenes. This made a big impact on the audience because if there was no music with the scenes or if the music was like a different type which didn't go well with the scene alot of people wouldn't like it much and find it boring.
I think that most of the facts that Moore used were correct and real like he said that the banks have alot of our money and that is true cause i have read this kind of stuff in the newspapers before so its not the first time that I'm hearing this. He also said that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer and a great way he showed us that was the part where people had their houses taken away and they got poorer while the rich made money off that which made them richer. The people interviewed were pretty much credible because they were really emotional and started crying and you could tell that this wasn't just a bunch of fake acting. Moore tried to tell us that capitalism is completely bad and didn't show us any good things about it and he was being bias so we agree with him.
In the movie Moore didn't show us a single part where we could say that capitalism is good and he only showed us the negative effects of it but i think that is not true and capitalism can be used is good ways. I think that capitalism can be perfected because in the movie he shows how greedy the big corporations, companies, banks and the government are. Some rich people are also good and not completely evil so capitalism can be perfected by changing some laws because there are also some good things that the government are doing like free health care and welfare and etc. I think that if they do more kind of things like this it will make big changes in the world of capitalism.

BCI in the news
The other day at Bloor collegiate something really tragic happened something that not alot of us would look back on. The other day after lunch our school went to a lock down because of a stabbing in the parking lot behind the school this involved students from Bloor collegiate. After this incident there were several news articles made about the stabbing and they had different explanations for what had happened. Some articles said that Bloor collegiate was a dangerous school with alot of gang fights which was so untrue so the media was changing up some of the story but i think that Bloor is a safe school and this is the first time something has happened like this but the media is just trying to say the same thing but with a different meaning.

The Story Of Stuff
The story of stuff was a video which was made by Annie Leonard that we watched during media class. I really liked the video and learned a lot from it too. I found it to be a really interesting video and I found out about things that I never knew about. The Story of Stuff was a video which tells us about what the big companies are doing to the planet and how are all the things that we use in our daily lives like for example TV’s, radios and etc are made. It also tells us the process of how this is all made and who makes it and what do they get out of it and where does it all go at the end. Annie Leonard tells us that this system is in crisis because it is a linear system and we live on a finite planet and you can not run a linear system on a finite planet. She also says that were running out of stuff because were using too much of it and she said that 80% of the planets original forests are already gone. Another point added in her video was that there is a lot of pollution because of all the products being made. The main thing that she wants to tell us is that we consume too much and we consume more than we need. Another important point is that we are throwing away things that still usable and getting knew ones and a great example of that are clothes. I don’t really agree with all the things that Annie Leonard is telling us but I do agree with some of the things that she said for example I agree that we are using too much and more than we should but I don’t agree with the part that she said that there is a little chip in the computer that they change every year and that is the main thing that screws up the computer like seriously there are so many pieces in the computer and I think that the people who make the computer change a lot of things in the computer not mainly the chip which makes it different. One thing that I really liked in the video was how she made the government look bad and how she was saying that the big corporations are more superior then the government and she also showed us that in a great way by the cartoon sketches. In it the government person was so small and the corporation and companies people were so big and how the government guy was polishing the corporation person’s foot. I think she did a good job there and the government should feel embarrassed. We also saw another video showing some politician and how he was mad about the video and how it was being played in classes all over the country. Overall I’m not sure whether the system is in crisis or not but eventually it will be.

Meida Consumption Sheet
After doing our estimates on our media consumption sheet we had to do the actual thing and find out how much media we use in our daily lives. After i did my actual media consumption i was really surprised of how much hours i spend reading internet sites because i got 10 hours. For some people that might not be alot but for me that was alot because we spend so much time in school and i think because of that i should have spend less time on the computer and more on my work no wonder i never finish my work. I was also surprised because i spent the same time on the tv well its because of the same reasons. One thing i was dissapointed in was the hours i got reading books, novels, newspapers and etc. i think if i had 10 hours watchind tv i should have had atleast 7-8 hours on books but instead i had only four in total. Overall i am pretty happy with what i got i had 34 hours in total electronic media that is very little compared to other people and i think its because i spend most of my time playing outside instead of sitting at home and i think that really healthy and i should keep it up.

Did You Know?
My thoughts on the Did You Know video were I thought that the video was really cool but some of the things said in the video didn’t make much sense for example in the video they said that in 2013 a super computer will be built that will be smarter than human beings but I don’t get it that how is it going to be smarter because who is going to make it. It might be as smart as humans but I don’t think it’s going to be smarter. I think that not all things in the video were true some were just made up while others were just estimated so this video isn’t very accurate. They also are saying that change is happening really fast and everything is getting more advance and it sort of means that we should make our young generation learn more so it is also giving a little message there but overall I thought that the did you know video was really good and I learned about a lot of things that I didn’t know about before and I thought that that was pretty cool.
